Yagi for the UHF 430 to 450 Mhz |
The boom is made of ¾ PVC plactic pipe, all 8 elements are made of 3/16" aluminium rods. |
A RF Choke was made with a couple of turns of RG-58U coax
All measurements are in inches |
The elements material came from an old antenna |
I applied two 4-40 screws to connect the coax |
The driven element is made all in one peace and need to be 9/16" center to center |
of the two rods. Make the element a bit longer and file to get the best SWR |
Adding two terminals logs make it easier to connect |
The driven and the coax RG-58U are completed |
Use a WiseGrip to align all the holes |
After appling the driven the Yagi will be completed |
Make the holes a little bit smaller than the aluminum rod than apply some CrazyGlue |
The SWR is less than 1.5 |
The SWR is good and the impedance is only resistive |
The gain is very good and with an 10 degrees, this antenna will
perfect when working in your hand while walking
The 3D diagram at 10 degrees |

Both UHF and VHF versions |

Here is an easy solution to communicate with both AO-27 and AO-51 satellites |
