Yagi for the VHF 146 mHz

Thank's to Pierre VE2PID who made all the simulation with EZNec

This UDA-YAGI antenna 5 elements very easy to build

The boom is made of ¾ PVC plactic pipe, all 5 elements are made of 3/16" aluminium rods.

A RF Choke was made with a couple of turns of RG-58U coax

All measurements are in inches

The elements material came from an old antenna

The Driven element look's like a J-Pole type

Use a WiseGrip to align all the holes

Make the holes a little bit smaller than the aluminum rod than apply some CrazyGlue

I applied two 4-40 screws to connect the coax

The SWR is less than 1.5

The SWR is good and the impedance is almost resistive "J" is only 4 ohms

The gain is very good and with a 10 degrees, this antenna will
perfect when working in your hand while walking

The 3D diagram at 10 degrees

Both UHF and VHF versions

Here is an easy solution to communicate with both AO-27 and AO-51 satellites
