The coax must be connected exactly at 1¼" |

The center and the shield wire of the coax must be shorted at the 5¼" end |

I used a terminal log and a 4/40 machine screw to connect the shield to the SO-259, I also applied some hot glue to insulate the two wires |

You must grind the SO-259 to fit the PVC cap |

I made the final adjustments with 20 watts of output, the SWR at 146 MHz was 1.4, after the final adjustement the SWR for the VHF band was : |
