Building a VHF/UHF JPole with 300 Ohms Twinlead

Material :

50 inches of 300 Ohms Twinlead
25 inches of RG-58 Coax
1 SO-259
6 feet of ¾" PVC tubing
2 PCV Cap ¾"

The coax must be connected exactly at 1¼"

The center and the shield wire of the coax must be shorted at the 5¼" end

I used a terminal log and a 4/40 machine screw to connect the shield to the SO-259, I also applied some hot glue to insulate the two wires

You must grind the SO-259 to fit the PVC cap

I made the final adjustments with 20 watts of output, the SWR at 146 MHz was 1.4, after the final adjustement the SWR for the VHF band was :

Frequencies in MHz SWR
144 1.85
145 1.45
146 1.1
147 1.3
148 1.85
