Using the Doppler home by VE2HLS |
|
Picture of my doppler's home antenna, it's on top of a 20 ft pipe. |
In the shack : From the left, a scanner, homemade Doppler, on the right a old 2 meters Yaesu Ft-227R, a commercial radio Phoenix plus a homemade attenuator. |
This is how the system is working ! |
When receiving a signal on the antenna, the Yaesu receives the information and sends |
it to the Doppler. The results are read by the doppler. |
The center Led is green when a strong signal is received, in this case the 120 degrees |
red LED is on. On the display we see Q8 which means that is the strongest signal I can |
receive (Q1 to Q8) 117 degrees from my location, the INT (integration) is adjusted to 160 a bearing is sent every 160 rotations. |
